WCMS President Dr. Kieran McAvoy has been nominated and selected to receive the Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation’s 2025 Kenneth M. Viste, Jr., MD Young Physician Leadership Award.
Fellow Wisconsin physicians submitted nominations highlighting Dr. McAvoy's leadership, advocacy and professionalism as an outstanding young physician, caring community member promoting health education, and her commitment to advance the profession of medicine with her work to improve policies and procedures through her leadership with her county, state, and specialty societies. Noted was Dr. McAvoy's selfless contributions to the profession of medicine through the AMA, Waukesha County Medical Society, Wisconsin Medical Society, her consistent volunteering at Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation Events, including Operation Education, and the community organizations she champions including the Alzheimer’s Association and Milwaukee County Falls Prevention Coalition. She has served as a role model for physicians who want to be involved in health policy and patient advocacy while serving as a full physician and active community member. The Wisconsin Medical Society shares that Kieran McAvoy, MD, is an outstanding addition to the impressive list of past recipients who continue to well represent and honor the legacy Dr. Kenneth Viste, a physician who tirelessly served his community, patients, and profession with determined leadership and advocacy.
