Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation’s Annual Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction
The Wisconsin Medical Society Foundation’s 2020 Fundraising Dinner and Silent Auction with the theme, Raising Hope: Fostering a healthy tomorrow, will be held on Friday, April 17, 5-8:30 p.m. at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, Madison. The schedule for the evening is as follows:
The number of children in foster care has been rising steadily since 2012 and expert opinion links this to the parallel rise in opioid addiction and overdose. The toxic stress these children are exposed to makes them at risk of lifelong health consequences.
At this event, Lisa Zetley, MD, FAAP, will shine a light on the innocent victims of the opioid crisis, the health challenges they face, the physical, social and emotional resources and support needed, and what we can do individually and as a community to foster a healthy tomorrow for these children.
Doctor Zetley is Associate Professor of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a consulting Medical Director for Care4Kids (a foster care medical home program) affiliated with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. She is regarded as a state and national expert on the health needs of children in foster care and has dedicated her career to improving the lives of children who are served by child welfare.
Purchase a ticket or host a table and invite guests to enjoy a fun social evening while also learning about the health of children in foster care and helping to honor those receiving awards during the event. Proceeds will support Foundation programs that improve public health and access to well-trained and dedicated physicians in Wisconsin.
